Our students visit the computer lab during library, math, computer lit, tutoring & for research papers.

We have just received an updated computer lab.  We now have 25 new computers with Windows XP all connected to a networked printer.  Our school also now has wireless Internet services, which is up to eleven times faster than before. 

LA Educational Technology Week

    Through technology, Jena Jr. High School is currently trying to broaden students' creativity and academic abilities.  Presently all of our students have hands-on experience through the use of classroom computers and the computer lab.  Our computer lab has recently been updated with 25 new Pentium 4 computers which have Windows XP and wireless Internet. 
    Each week students rotate through the computer lab working on various projects such as Social Studies Fair projects, MTS Software, Cornerstone, Internet Lessons, Science Projects, Microsoft Word, Power Point, etc.  Through funding by the Rapides Foundation Grant, teachers attend after school meetings to further enhance their technology skills with incorporating technology in the classroom through micropresenters, Power Point presentations, Internet, e-mail, etc.
