Jena Junior High School will use detention as a means of discipline that may reduce the number of suspensions and thereby reduce the amount of absences.  Detention will be held during lunch and canteen recesses.  One day of detention means two recesses.  Detention will be held in Rooms 8 and 9.  Students must bring paper and pencil.  Students that do not cooperate in detention can have another day added to detention or can be considered for Saturday detention or Alternative School.  Only one day will be added before Saturday detention or Alternative School.

RULES FOR DETENTION

1) No talking with other students.

2) Must complete assignments given by detention teacher.

3) Must not be tardy.

4) Must cooperate with teacher at all times.

5) Students must stay in desks.

6) Students are not to leave until dismissed by teacher.

7) Days will be added or suspension for misbehavior.

8) An extra day will be added if you skip a recess.  Two extra days will be added in you skip both recesses.

***2nd infraction sends you straight to Saturday detention or Alternative School.
