 Each student referred to the school principal
for discipline will be accompanied by a LaSalle Parish School Behavior Report.
The principal shall: give a warning and counsel, assign punish work,
assign recess detention, call parent, administer corporal punishment, assign
Saturday detention and/or suspend to the Alternative School.
Reasons for suspension and/or expulsion:
 | Willful disobedience. |
 | Disrespect to a teacher, principal,
superintendent, and/or member or employee of the local school board.

 | Making an unfounded charge against anyone
in #2 above. |
 | Using unchaste or profane language.
|
 | Immoral or vicious practices.
|
 | Using tobacco and using and possessing
alcoholic beverages or any controlled dangerous substances governed by the
uniformed controlled dangerous substance law in any form in school buildings
or on school grounds. |
 | Conduct or habit injurious to his/her associates.
|
 | Disturbing the school and habitually
violating the rules. |
 | Cutting, defacing, or injuring any part of
public school buildings. |
 | Writing profane or obscene language or
drawing obscene pictures in or on any public school premises, or any fence,
sidewalk, or building on the way to or from school. |
 | Carrying firearms, knives, or other
implements which can be used as weapons. |
 | Throwing missiles on the school grounds.

 | Instigating or participating in fight
while under school supervision. |
 | Violating traffic and safety regulations.
|
 | Leaving the school premises without
permission or his/her classroom or detention room without permission.
|
 | Habitual tardiness or absenteeism.
|
 | Committing any other serious offense. |
Reasons for Automatic expulsion:
 | Threatening a student and/or faculty or
staff with a weapon (real or imagined). This
is a state law. |
 | Possession of drugs. This is a state
law. |
 | Drinking alcoholic beverages on campus or
at a school function. This is a state law. |
 | Bringing alcoholic beverages on campus or
at a school function. This is a state law. |
 | Under the influence of alcoholic beverages
on campus or at a school function. This is a state law.

 | Possession of a gun, knife, or other
instrument that could be considered a weapon. This is a state law.
(Automatic expulsion for a minimum of 6 months.) |
 | Upon fourth suspension, the principal
shall recommend expulsion. |
 | The conviction of any student of a felony
or the incarceration of any student in a juvenile institution for an act which
had been committed by an adult, would have constituted a felony, shall be
cause for expulsion. |

**JJHS has the right to search anyone anyplace
at anytime. For more information refer to JJHS policy manual.
***JJHS has a harassment (covering verbal,
physical, or sexual) policy. Anyone caught harassing anyone is any manner
will be automatically suspended. For more information refer to JJHS policy
manual.
