| KINDERGARTEN |
In order to be promoted to the first grade,
students will be required to attain 80 % mastery of the critical skills. |
| GRADES 1, 2, 3 |
In order to be promoted students must attain
the minimum of a D average in Reading and demonstrated mastery of grade
appropriate skills of the areas tested on the parish basal reading program.
Any student failing to maintain a D average in Math will be retained.
Two of the required quality points must be earned in the second semester. |
| GRADES 4, 5, 6 |
In order for a student to be promoted,
students will be required to attain the minimum of a D average in Reading
and may attain no more than one session grade of F in remaining major
subjects. Any students failing to maintain a D average in Math will be
retained regardless of status of grades in other subjects. Grade 4
students must score "Basic" in ELA or Math and "Approaching Basic" in the
other area. Two of the required quality points must be earned in the
second semester. |
| GRADES 7 & 8 |
In order for a student to be promoted, 7 & 8
will be required to maintain at least a D average in Reading and Math and
can have an F in only one other major subject area. Two of the
required quality points must be earned in the second semester. Grade 8
students must pass the LEAP 21 test with "Approaching Basic." |
| HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
GRADES 9 - 12 |
A student shall complete a minimum of 23
Carnegie units required by the state with passing grades. Meet all
attendance regulations. They must pass all parts of the GEE as
required by the state and will be administered in the 10th and 11th grades.
The 23 units shall consist of 15 required units and 8 elective units. |
